Day 1 Nairobi – Lake Bogoria Spa Resort

Upon arrival you will be met by Wanderlust representatives, after a short briefing you will depart towards Lake Bogoria, descending to the floor the Great Rift Valley with a brief stop at the viewpoint. Mt. Longonot which is of volcanic origin and Lake Naivasha can be seen from far, this is one of the fresh waters lakes in the rift valley and a bird watchers paradise. Arriving in time for lunch, check in at, a resident ornithologist leads walks before breakfast and in the evenings. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Spa Resort.

Day 2 Lake Bogoria Spa Resort

An early breakfast at Lake Bogoria Spa Resort, we leave for full day’s scenic at Lake Bogoria National Park. The Lake is a shallow soda lake hosting thousands of pink flamingos, a large number of other birds and the lesser kudu. The flamingos feeding in the bluish water presents a rare scenic beauty. Dinner and overnight at Lake Bogoria Spa Resort.

Day 3 & 4 Kakamega Forest National Reserve

After breakfast, we leave for full day’s scenic drive over the Tugen Hills, through the Kerio Valley and Serikwa plateau and finally onto Kakamega forest. We stay at Rondo Retreat Centre just inside the forest. Originally a retreat for missionaries, this delightful haven is now open to other visitors, the peaceful garden are an Ornithologist’s dream, alive with different species of birds. We spend two days exploring Kakamega Forest National Reserve. Dinner and overnight at Rondo Retreat Centre.

Day 5 Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, arrival will be in time for late lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Afternoon game drive is taken where you will have the opportunity to spot leopards, rhino and a variety of other wildlife. The lake itself is a soda water lake on the floor of the rift valley and it has also earned a reputation as an important haven for endangered species- particularly the Rothschild Giraffe, the black and white rhino, lions, waterbuck, buffalo and baboons. Dinner and overnight at Lake Nakuru Lodge.

Day 6 Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, check out and drive to Hells gate National Park with brief stop at the Lake Elementaita view point. The park is famous for its natural steaming geysers and a haven for birdwatchers. The walking/ hiking in the park gives one a sense of freedom. Over 120 species have been recorded here. Lunch at Lake Naivasha Country Club and the afternoon is spent at leisure or an optional boat ride to crescent Island. Dinner and overnight at Lake Naivasha Country Club.

Day 7, 8 & 9 Masai Mara National Reserve

After breakfast, depart Lake Naivasha Country Club by 0730 hours for the incomparable Masai Mara National Reserve the world’s finest game reserves. Situated at the northern most tip of the vast Serengeti eco-system, the Masai Mara offers the most spectacular game viewing of any park in East Africa. The Mara covering 700 square miles is the Africa of movies and photographs consisting of large open grasslands dotted with acacia trees. A spectacle worth seeing is the annual migration of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle from the Mara plains, through the Mara River and into the Serengeti in Tanzania. The dramatic crossing of the river and the preying on the migrants by predators can be viewed from July and August. You will also visit Masai Manyattas to learn more about the cultural traditions of the Masai. Optional hot air balloons safari can be arranged at an extra cost.
Dinner and overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge.

Day 10 Nairobi

After breakfast, check out of the lodge and drive to Nairobi, Arrival is time for lunch at Sarova Panafric Hotel. Then depart for the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening for your flight to the next destination.
