Day 1 Falcon Heights Hotel

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport you will be met by Wanderlust representatives, you will drive to head north towards a beautiful mountain range in the central highlands of Kenya. Enroute we cross the equator, which is very close to second highest mountain in Africa, the snowcapped Mt. Kenya. Arrive for lunch at Falcon Heights Hotel where you will be assisted with the check in formalities. Dinner and overnight at Falcon Heights Hotel.

Day 2 Falcon Heights Hotel

After breakfast, depart with packed lunches for Ngare Ndare Forest which is the only indigenous forest in Kenya with an expanding canopy cover, and some of the ancient African Olive and Red Cedar trees within it. All the big 5 animals (Lion, elephant, buffalo, Rhino and Leopard) live here, and are frequently seen as they make their way from Lewa Wildlife Conservancy towards the Mount Kenya forest. The Ngare Ndare and Ngare Nything rivers both emanate from springs in the forest, and creates paradisiacal blue pools that go on to provide water for the wildlife and the surrounding communities. There are a series of waterfalls and pools down one of the river systems that flows with crystal clear water. The beauty of these natural sites are a wonder to see and enjoy. Game drives are also taken in this forest. Dinner and overnight at Falcon Heights Hotel.

Day 3 Samburu National Reserve

After breakfast, depart the Falcon Heights Hotel drive north descending from the highlands into the rugged austerely beautiful semi- desert country of the north home of the pastoral Samburu, cousins of the Masai. Samburu National Reserve and Samburu Intrepids Camp are reached in time for lunch. There is time to unpack and unwind before our first game drive inside the Samburu National Reserve. A late afternoon game drive is taken.

Day 4 Samburu National Reserve

Early morning game drive from 0630 hours to 0830 hours. Breakfast at Samburu Intrepids.Samburu offers a visual feast as proud Samburu herdsman coexist with the wildlife, many rare and endemic species thrive here including Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Besia Orys, Gerenuk, Olive Baboon, Guenther’s, Dik Dik and Reticulated Giraffe, Leopard and Elephant are plentiful. Relax at the Camp before lunch and there after go for a game drive from 1530 hours to 1800 hours.
Dinner and overnight at Samburu Intrepids.

Day 5 The Ark Lodge

After breakfast, depart Samburu Intrepids for the Aberdare Country club (the base for the Ark Lodge) to reach by lunch time. At 1430 hours the club transport takes you to the Ark Lodge. A uniquely shaped lodge tucked away in the Aberdare National Park forest. The lodge’s water hole and salt lick are well lit at night when the animals come to drink and a well-concealed hide affords eye-to-eye viewing of forest elephant, buffalo, lion and other game, including the endangered black rhino. Dinner and overnight at the Ark Lodge.
NB: Warm clothing is advisable as nights tend to be chilly, but only an overnight bag is required. The rest of the luggage is stored at the Aberdare Country Club. Children under 7 are not allowed at The Ark.

Day 6 Nairobi

After breakfast, depart the Ark lodge and drive to Nairobi, Arrival is time for lunch at Nairobi Serena Hotel. Dinner at the Hotel, Then depart for the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the evening for your flight to the next destination.
